River Park at Diversey – 2222 W Diversey (42 Units)
This mid-size loft development is part of a gated community that includes 19 town homes. The property is fully landscaped and has its own private park with riverfront access. The complex was built right on the river’s edge, just north of Diversey Parkway at the tip of Chicago’s Industrial Corridor.
River Park at Diversey houses 42 timber loft units. The floor plans offer a variety of sizes and shapes, including asymmetrical layouts with less boxy blueprints than the usual loft-style dwelling. Exposed brick walls, vertical wood posts and timber beams are the norm in River Park at Diversey. Given that some of the lofts have 15-foot ceilings, the residences are quite impressive to see in person. The units feature tall windows that flood the interior living spaces with sunlight and gorgeous hardwood floors that run throughout the home.
Most River Park lofts are about 1,000 to 2,000 square feet. There is extra storage within the building and deeded garage parking is also available. Similar to most lofts in the city, ductwork and pipes run around the ceilings of River Park lofts and track lighting hangs down from the rafters.
Private balconies provide residents with a bit of private outdoor space while the gigantic roof deck is ideal for friendly get-togethers. Set at the back of the building toward the riverfront side, the sprawling rooftop terrace affords spectacular panoramic vistas of the city skyline. Dawn or dusk, this is the best spot in the development to witness a dazzling sunrise or dramatic sunset.
Interior finishes at River Park appeal to a diverse array of tastes. Some units have brightly painted walls and bold décor choices, while others possess a more muted motif with neutral tones and natural accents. The chef’s kitchens offer a variety of appliance packages and have large islands with breakfast bar seating. A number of units have remodeled bathrooms with designer vanities and custom tile work. The lofts also have in-unit laundry and gas fireplaces in the main living areas.
