Ontario Street Lofts – 411 W. Ontario (173 Units)

Ontario Street Lofts

Ontario Street Lofts is a great example of classic warehouse conversion. From the outside, the seven-story redbrick industrial building appears to be unchanged. The only difference from the way it looked some 90 years ago is the addition of a simple green awning that juts out over the front door and reads: ONTARIO ST. LOFTS. Of course, inside is a different story. The awning-covered entry leads to a slew of choice luxury loft units with all the conveniences of modern residential real estate.

Ontario Street Lofts takes pride in its authentic architectural details and true loft design. As you might expect, the individual units are a testament to the distinguishing openness and purposeful roughness of storehouse conversions. The underlying elements of the building’s structure become part of the interior motif and give the spaces a unique flavor all their own.

Not so much for those who prefer a cozy feel, Ontario Street Lofts is a perfect fit for anyone who’s a fan of vast areas with lots of potential. The enormity of each unit’s living space is accentuated by soaring ceiling heights and massive vertical support columns. Natural oak hardwood floors balance the stark coolness of exposed concrete ceilings. Ductwork, track lighting and pipes were left unconcealed, adding another dimension to the lofts’ urban ambiance.

The kitchen, living and dining rooms in Ontario Street Lofts are grouped into one large area, while partial walls provide privacy to the home’s more intimate quarters. Finishes vary from one unit to the next, but it is not uncommon to find stainless steel appliances and granite counters in the kitchens, marble in the bathrooms, and organized closets in the bedrooms. However, the lofts were built in 1995 so a few still have a bit of dated décor.

Properties in Ontario Street Lofts offer between 1,000 and 2,000+ square feet. Most have in-unit laundry, and select lofts boast private balconies, wood-burning fireplaces and luxury upgrades. There is a fitness center in the building that has a treadmill, stationary bike, free weights, weight machines, and other exercise options. Garage parking is available, plus the bike room and storage lockers help cut down on the clutter in residents’ homes. The big rooftop terrace is outfitted with lounge chairs, patio tables, barbeque grills and plenty of room for residents to hangout in comfort with neighbors.
