Hale Lofts – 14 N. Peoria (45 Units)

Hale Lofts

Hale Lofts is hailed as one of the most sought-after residential locations in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. The original building was converted into hard lofts in 1994. Its timber loft-style is highly desirable and part of the reason Hale Lofts have been so successful. The mid-rise redbrick structure houses a number of unique properties, including an innovative duplex unit fashioned out of an existing elevator shaft to the roof!

As one of the first loft conversion projects in the area, Hale Lofts set a high bar for the luxury loft movement on Chicago’s Near West Side. The solid construction of the 1925 building was an ideal setting for new development. Large timber rafters are a hot commodity among loft lovers and this popular locale has some of the most beautiful around. The exposed brick walls are in great shape for being 85 years old and the soft hues of aged masonry make for a trendy interior décor statement.

Unit layouts offer a good selection of individuality however the open floor plan is consistent throughout the building. Some of the Hale Lofts are large live/work studios while others have more defined domestic quarters. Extra-tall ceilings, hardwood floors and the afore-mentioned timber beams and brick accents are prime Hale Lofts features. For the most part, kitchens boast stainless steel appliances and chic custom built-ins, like wine racks and elevated breakfast bars. There are in-unit washers and dryers, plus full-building security and heated garage parking. A handful of lofts have their own private outdoor space but most residents just use the communal rooftop deck.

Hale Lofts is in the middle of great dining options, art galleries, businesses, and transportation routes. Both the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) and Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) are a few minutes drive from 14 N. Peoria and CTA/Metra stops are only a short walk away as well. Greek Town is just two blocks south of Hale Lofts and there’s a cluster of in vogue West Loop restaurants a couple blocks in the other direction, too.
